I was so happy to be on Share and Grow Spotlight and spend time with him again. It is a good platform for people like me and Himmanshoo and I had such a friendly chat show. It was a good platform where I could actually share my journey especially with those people who think I got it easy. I played 90 matches for India and people think it was easy but they don’t know my life struggles and what it takes to be at this place where I am today. I was very comfortable talking to Himmanshoo. I have been getting a great response, people are actually messaging me and complimenting me. I can see them getting inspired, which is amazing,’ he says.

I would sleep in the building compound and during the rains, I would wrap plastic around my body and sleep under the air conditioner fan outside. Also, I as a sportsperson I always wanted to play for India at the Olympics but I couldn’t in 2012 due to my hand injury and in 2016 also, I missed my chance of playing at the Rio Olympics.’

They were such positive influences in my life during my struggle and continue to be. I urge people to always respect their parents no matter what because they are the ones who will always there by their side in good and bad times and support them,’ he says.
