REVEALED! The secret behind the names Prerna and Anurag Basu in KZK

As we all know, one of the most popular Indian soap operas of the early 2000s is coming back soon on our television screens. Ekta Kapoor is all set to bring the reboot version of the classic show Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Since the makers have announced the show, fans can’t keep calm.

In the second season of the show, Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan will be essaying the role of Prerna and Anurag, respectively. The series will hit your TV screens on 25 September at 8 PM, and Ekta is leaving no stone unturned to build curiosity among fans. We still don’t know who will be playing Komolika.

The mystery behind why Ekta chose Anurag Basu and Prerna as the names for the lead characters is finally out. Ekta recently took to her Twitter account and said that everyone knows that the name Anurag Basu was based on her director friend. She asked Twitterati to guess where the name Prerna came from.

The television queen finally revealed the answer. She stated that Sharman Joshi’s wife Prerna is the daughter of her dad’s close friend, legendary actor Prem Chopra. It seems that she had a tough time finding a name for this character. That’s when someone suggested Prem Chopra’s daughter’s name and she instantly knew that it was the perfect name.

Ekta also said that another reason she chose these names was because Anurag means love and Prerna means inspiration and she thought that these two names were perfect for the storyline.
