Kanika Mann’s Doli gets lifted by her on-screen Bahus
MUMBAI: Marriage is one of the most important turning points in a girl’s life, be it reel or real. From picking up the right attire to looking drop dead gorgeous on her D-day, the bride-to-be looks forward to all the pre-wedding rituals and wedding ceremonies with a lot of excitement and hope. With Guddan Tumse Na Ho Paega protagonist (played by Kanika Mann) prepping for her on-screen wedding on the show, the excitement and anticipation felt as real as if it were her own real-life wedding. India’s youngest saas Guddan is all set to get married to Akshat Jindal (played by Nishant Singh Malkani) in grand style, with a lot of shaadi drama unfolding all through October. For the sequence, Kanika made an entry in a unique manner. Proving that lifting a Doli isn’t just a male prerogative, Guddan was ushered to the mandap by her three bahus Durga (Shweta Mahadik), Laxmi (Sehrish Ali) and Saraswati (Rashmi Gupta) who displayed their naari shakti, lifting her heavy doli effortlessly.
Traditionally, its men who lift a bride’s doli but Guddan’s bahus definitely know how to break the norm. Speaking about the sequence, Sehrish shared, “Picking up Guddan’s doli was a surprise element for us. We did not know that we were supposed to do it all by ourselves without anyone’s help. It was a comparatively more difficult task for me as Shweta and Rashmi were holding the doli from one end and I was the only one holding it from the other end. Thanks to my weight training regimen at the gym, that I was able to pull this sequence off and it turned out to be a lot of fun.”
Well! We definitely can’t wait to watch more drama unfold with Guddan and Akshat’s wedding.
