Is Nandini really at fault in breaking Kunal and Mauli’s marriage?
MUMBAI : A year back television had a deluge of romantic sagas like Dil Se Dil Tak, Tu Aashiqui, Kuch Rang Pyaar ke Aise bhi. Though romance is still the hero of many shows, the central space of any love story is now peppered with extramarital affairs. To testify this trend lot of current shows are witness to it. The 90s saw an outpouring of such shows that were swamped with extra-marital affairs like Neena Gupta’s Saans, Renuka Shahane starrer Sailaab and Harsh Chhaya and Shefali Shah’s Hasratein. And now the trend is back again, but with some twist.
Alt Balaji’s Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain deals with unfaithfulness where Rohit (Ronit Roy) finds relief in Ananya’s (Mona Singh) arms and overlooks his wife Poonam (Gurdip Kohli) who he has been married to for more than two decades. A heart wants what it wants, so it’s okay if Rohit decides to leave Poonam and marry Ananya but it was such a respite to see Poonam appreciating her life post the divorce.

After Bepannaah and Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain, the new kid to join the extra-marital movement is Colors’ new show Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka. The story revolves around Nandini, Kunal and Mauli where Nandini is dealing with a bad marriage whereas her best friend Mauli is happily married to Kunal. Mouli brings Nandani at her place, thereon Kunal and Nandani fall for each other.
Even though viewers have trolled the characters of Nandini and Kunal, but the viewership is surmounting because such stories have an iota of truth. And the truth always works.
